Pool Interior Finishes & Resurfacing in Florida

A swimming pool interior finish is a surface system, not just a color choice. The plaster, quartz or exposed-aggregate layer has to bond to the shell, cure in water, tolerate pool chemistry and remain comfortable enough to use. When a finish becomes rough, stained, blotchy or delaminated, the first job is to identify which problem you actually have before paying for an acid wash or another resurfacing.

The Questions Homeowners Keep Asking

Do Not Diagnose by Color Alone

A white area can be calcium scale on top of the finish, calcium-rich material from cement hydration, pigment loss after chemical attack, or simply lighter normal mottling. A dark stain can involve metals or organic material. A rough surface can be deposited scale or the opposite problem: cement that has been dissolved away. Those conditions can call for opposite treatments.

Florida Licensing Matters Here

Florida law places swimming-pool interior finishes within residential/commercial pool contractor scope and interior refinishing within swimming-pool/spa servicing contractor scope. That is different from ordinary decorative painting or flooring. See the Surface Blueprint licensing matrix when evaluating a resurfacing contractor.
