Yes, many cracked garage slabs can receive epoxy, polyaspartic or another resinous floor system—but only after the crack is classified. A stable shrinkage crack can often be repaired as part of surface preparation. A moving, vertically displaced or settlement-related crack is a different problem, and coating over it does not stop the slab from moving.

What a Professional Repair Usually Involves
For a stable crack, installers may mechanically chase or open the crack enough to reach sound material, vacuum it clean, fill it with a compatible resin or repair compound, allow it to cure as required, then grind the repair flush with the slab. The exact repair chemistry should be compatible with the primer/basecoat that follows.
Why “We Fill All Cracks” Is Not a Complete Quote
Ask which cracks will be repaired, which joints will remain functional, what product will be used, whether vertical displacement exists, and what the warranty says if a repaired crack reappears through the finished floor. No installer can honestly guarantee that a slab that continues moving will never telegraph movement into a rigid decorative system.
If the Crack Is Also Wet
Water at a crack may be a clue to slab moisture, exterior drainage or support loss. Filling the visible line is not a moisture-vapor test. Evaluate the slab moisture condition separately before installing a low-permeability resin floor.
